The Caribbean Islands are some of the most popular destinations in the world. Most people do not know that these islands encompass a number of island groupings, each claimed by a different country. For example, the British Isles and the U.S. Virgin Islands are part of the Caribbean Islands. If you decide to take a Caribbean yacht charter, here are some of the amazing things you can see and do aboard the yacht.

The Chalk-White Beaches

These islands sport some of the whitest sands you will ever see. The chalk-white beaches of the Caribbean are even more striking with the bright aquamarine waters ebbing and flowing over them. Many of the Caribbean beaches are open to the public, so if your chartered yacht makes a stop at one of the many available beaches, you may want to depart just long enough to dig your toes into the white sands.

Pods of Dolphins

If you are lucky, your charter may bring you a close encounter with a pod of dolphins. These playful, frolicking sea mammals are accustomed to seeing human boats in these waters and may swim closer out of curiosity. Some charter captains also know exactly where to go for you to get some really good photographs of dolphins, if that is your thing.

The Third Largest Barrier Reef in the World

Want to scuba or snorkel around the third largest barrier reef in the world? You can, if your chartered yacht takes you close enough to dive off and explore. You do have to have a scuba license or be well-trained in snorkeling if you plan to take this particular chartered trip.

Deep Sea Fishing

For the fisherman or fisherwoman, some Caribbean charters offer deep sea fishing excursions. Catch a trophy sailfin or swordfish, take a commemorative photo, and then either release it or bring it ashore for a fish feast and have the skin stuffed by a taxidermist before mailing it home. If you catch a lot of smaller fish, you can have a nice fish boil on any one of the Caribbean's thousand beaches and dozens of islands.

Private Island Parties and Tours

Maybe you are planning a very special moment with someone very special to you. If that is the case, you can hire a charter to take you around to all of the uninhabited private islands. When you spot a beach that looks perfect, ask the captain to stop so that you and your significant other can go ashore. Groups can do the same if they would like a private party with no party crashers.
